The Cheraw Fire Department is accepting applications for the position of Volunteer Firefighter.

Applications can be picked up at the Cheraw Town Hall.


Applicants must meet the below requirements.

Requirements:
18 yrs of age
High School Diploma or GED
Valid Driver’s license.



Preferred:
NFPA, IFSAC or Pro Board Firefighter I
SCFA Haz-Mat Ops
SCFA Auto Extrication
NFPA, IFSAC or Pro Board Firefighter II


All candidates will be required to successfully complete a Job- Related Physical Agility Test and Skills Test.
Upon successful completion of the physical and skills tests,Volunteer Firefighter candidates will be selected
to interview with an interview panel.

Candidates passing all the above shall consent and pass a background

license check.

Candidates must live close to the Cheraw Fire District with living inside the District preferred.
